How far along are you in your current read before you start thinking about what you’ll read next?
Ha! Before I start the first page. The thing is, the piles of books I want to read are always there. So, when I pick one off the top of the pile, I can see the one that is next in the pile. Or, if I start a book on my kindle or on audible, I can see the next one I purchased. You’d think I’d buy these books as I read them, but that’s just not the way I roll.
Hence the TBR Challenge.
When do you choose your next book?

I never stop thinking about what I'll read next! I always have a TBR list that never seems to get any shorter! Sometimes I'll start thinking about starting a book and have to remind myself that I already have 2 or 3 (Or more) books waiting on the Nook, or library books sitting on the night stand that I have to complete before I get to the book I was thinking about. And usually at the library I have to cut myself off because there is just no way I can read that many books before they are all due! Which just means more books get added to the TBR list. It's a vicious, never ending cycle. And I think you just inspired a new blog post from me for later this week! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt *IS* a vicious, never ending cycle!! I look forward to your blog post!
DeleteI can identify with all of that. I don't think I am in danger of running out of books any time soon. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you too!
DeleteOooh, you follow your pile!!!! Nice. I have piles, alrighty - both literal and virtual, but I rearrange 'em all the time depending on the mood, and then never reflect "what's next" anyway. Makes me wanna sneak one in secretly, or something, and see if you'll read it!! :-) Would you? Love your answer... thx for sharing! and hopping by my Musings!
ReplyDeleteI definitely would! I'm totally adaptable. ;-) Thanks for stopping by!
Deleteyou always read them in order, never shuffle the pile? oh no....
ReplyDeleteNever say never! There is often shuffling. Sometimes I just have to pander to the mood. But, in general, I am for sure a Type A personality. ;-)
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I'm always thinking about what to read next, but sometimes things can change.
ReplyDeleteThings change all the time for me too. Especially if I read a book that is the first of a series and I love it... then everything else goes on the back burner while if finish the series. Heh.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
My reading habits are similar to yours. Book club and my job at the bookstore both influence the "wandering eye" syndrome. There just isn't enough time to read all the wonderful books that keep calling out to me!
ReplyDeleteWandering Eye Syndrome. That disease is why my TBR list is so long!
DeleteYou work at a book store? Color me envious! I would love to work at a book store or library. Altough I would probably get no actual work done!
DeleteThe piles I want to read are always there too. In fact, right now, I have an immediate TBR list 26 books long. I've sorted them into the order I plan to read them. It changes from time to time, but for the most part, it's pretty static.
ReplyDeleteMy TBR list is about the same right now. It may seriously take me all year to get through it!
DeleteFor me, I'm always thinking of my next book. I have about 100 on my shelf that I haven't read yet, which means I probably need to get some professional help. A fitting second question would be, how do you know which book to read next? I love hearing about how other readers choose books. I am also a giant nerd and created a Facebook poll a few months ago asking How do readers choose books? Thanks for sharing.
